Stephen W. Bucher was born and raised in San Jose, California where he attended St. John Vianney School, Bellarmine College Preparatory, and Santa Clara University.
Prior to opening his office on The Alameda in San Jose, California, Stephen was a senior associate attorney at the Palo Alto, California headquarters of the Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (“Wilson Sonsini”) law firm. Wilson Sonsini is widely recognized as the leading national law firm representing high technology companies.

Stephen’s clients have included many prominent Silicon Valley companies and their senior management, including Agilent Technologies, E.piphany, Intraware, McAfee, New Focus, Palm, Pinnacle Systems, Shopping.com and Sun Microsystems.
Stephen’s current practice focuses on counseling and representing local Silicon Valley businesses. In addition to serving the needs of the local business community, Stephen provides trust and estate planning services for individual clients and their families.
Before entering private practice, Stephen served in the Financial Fraud Unit of the Oregon Department of Justice prosecuting consumer fraud, antitrust violations, and government contract disputes. In 1994-95, Stephen was Foreign Lecturer at the Law Faculty of the University of West Bohemia in the Czech Republic.
Stephen received his bachelor’s degree, with honors, from Santa Clara University. He earned his law degree from Willamette University, where he was elected Editor-in-Chief of the Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution.
Stephen is a licensed attorney in California and New York. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Santa Clara County Bar Association, the New York Bar Association, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
